Hot off the Press
So happy to share that I have been cast as the Virginia Butley U/S in NATIVE GARDENS by Karen Zacarias with Theatre Evolve. It will be at the Den Theater in Chicago June 26th - July 19th, and I will have a guaranteed performance.
Also, happy to share that I will be reprising my role as Mrs. Bennet in PRIDE & PREJUDICE for Inkwell Arts for 3 performances at Naper Settlement August 28-30.
I just finished playing the role of Irmgard Litten in TAKEN AT MIDNIGHT, a new play by Mark Hayhurst that made its US premiere at the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center, February 20th - March 7th. It was an honor to tell this remarkable woman's story with such a talented group of artists.
In January/February I recorded the wonderful role of Dahlia Bergeron in the audio series, IMPRIMATUR: A RADIO DRAMA! . This project is the recipient of a Creative Projects Grant from the IL Creative Arts Council and I am so very proud and grateful to be a part of it. When completed, it will be available on both Audible and Spotify.

This past summer I was blessed to appear in a hilarious episode for the ONION NEWS NETWORK, entitled, "Drunk Fireworks". I play Stella, the next door neighbor.
On Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 my Chicago Fire episode aired. I had a costar role. Blessed.

This past August - October I worked as the Linda Loman U/S in DEATH OF A SALESMAN with Gwydion Theatre Company, in residence at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 10/2-10/26. Happy to have been part of the team.
This past summer performed in a wonderfully successful sold out run & extension (July 12 - August 17), as Mrs. Bennett in PRIDE AND PREJUDICE for Inkwell Arts, at the Morton Arboretum. Blessed.
February 14th - March 9th, 2025, I had the privilege of playing Mrs. Helen Alving in Henrik Ibsen's GHOSTS, with Gwydion Theatre Company, in a successful run at The Greenhouse Theatre Center in Chicago. "As the burdened and conflicted Helen Alving, Jeanne Scurek is a revelation; it's difficult to imagine a fuller, more convincing portrayal." New City Stage
Had a wonderfully successful run as Professor Cronke and Mrs. Chadwick in WITHIN A SHADOW with Red Theater at The Den Theatre in Chicago September 5th-October 13th, 2024. Third Coast Review wrote: "Jeanne Scurek plays Professor Cronke, that sociology professor who seems to be at every university. It was a flashback to my sociology professor who was eccentric and deeply absorbed in empirical data. Scurek has that edge of weirdness in her portrayal that gave me a flashback to freshman year--in a good way." and WIS was selected as one of WBEZ's Chicago's "10 don't miss plays in September" Blessed.
Film News
In September, 2025, the short film DEADLY DEALS, produced by Spoltz Productions, was shown at the Chicago Horror Film Festival. I play the hilarious supporting role of Gloria.
In August, 2025, I was blessed to work on two feature films. I filmed a leading role in MY APOCALYPSE with Cantilever Films and I filmed the supporting role of Mara in the thriller, LOG 15 with Derelyct Films. They are both now in post production.
Happy to share that DIRTSKIN, the grant funded DePaul University film that I have the lead role of Marjorie in, has been completed and is currently being submitted to film festivals.
In January, 2025, I was blessed to film the role of Pastor Emily White in the feature length film, SO LONG, FAREWELL, for Cinderella Pictures. It is written and directed by Eleanor Wells and is currently in post production.
The feature film, THE QURAN, which I filmed a leading role in, in early 2024, is currently still in post production.
